Where you’ll work: Hospitals, nursing care facilities, community care facilities for the elderly Degree you’ll need: High school diploma or GED and completion of a 6-to-12 week CNA certificate program

WHO ARE CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTS?

A certified nursing assistant (CNA) job puts you on the front lines of patient care. Nursing assistants are vital to daily operations in hospitals and nursing care facilities. Your compassion and skill in patient care will help minimize the stress of those who are sick or unable to care for themselves. Certified nursing assistants, sometimes called nurses’ aides, orderlies, patient care technicians, and home health aides, work under the supervision of a nurse to help patients with daily living tasks.

ANM

Nursing is the medical specialty of caring for the sick, and maternity care is a profession that focusses on providing help to the mother during work and pregnancy.

Subjects covered within this course’s curriculum include Anatomy & Physiology, Biological Science, Microbiology, Behavioral Science, Sociology, Psychology, Fundamentals of Nursing, and First Aid.

 

The program aims to produce skilled general nurses, with qualities such as:

ANM Nursing makes students capable of finding job opportunities in various nursing, midwifery and other related jobs in health organisations. Students can also opt for pursuing higher studies such as B.Sc. Nursing degree.

GNM

  • Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM course is a 3 to 4-year diploma in paramedics. Nursing and Midwifery focuses on the provision of care to individuals, families, and communities. The course can be pursued after successful completion of the 10+2 level of education in the Science stream from a recognized educational Board, with a minimum aggregate score of 40%.
